newbie: Add contact

We have a restaurant reservation system that a few of our clients who use CC want us to add contacts direclty to their "email list" when a guest makes a reservation (if they check want to receive newsletter).

Is this something that can be done via the API for many different clients if I have their "KEY" or something?
