API Capabilities and Fixes Added: Login Credentials, OptIn Flags and Welcome Email
The Constant Contact REST APIs were updated and enhanced.
Updated functionality includes:
Campaigns Collection Resource Updated - This Campaigns resource, which is used to access campaigns and associated campaign reporting data, was updated to support a query parameter. The query parameter is used to identify, by status, the set of campaigns which are to be retrieved.
API Access - Support for Special Characters in User Names - The REST APIs were updated to accept Constant Contact User Names which special characters such as spaces and "@" symbols.
Error Codes Improved - The REST APIs were updated to improve the API error codes which are returned in error situations. The API now responds with more specific error messages (instead of the generic and inaccurate "500 Server Error" response which was sometimes returned in prior API releases.
Welcome Email and OptIn Source - The Contact resource was updated so that Welcome emails are now sent to Contacts created via the Contacts resource if and only if the OptInSource is set to ACTION_BY_CONTACT.
Good luck! As always, let us know what you think - and what you would like to see added!
