The only fields that Constant Contact sends through the authorize.net API are:
Can we at least get the Event Description of the event that someone is registering to passed through the API? Right now we have the need for different events to hit various accounting funds. We do that currently with Eventbrite by parsing the first 10 characters of the description to get the accounting code. While it is not optimum it does work. We would be able to turn on several events that our organization has and still have them hit the correct accounting buckets.
Any response on this issue would be appreciated!

Also, while the description works, it is not what we would really like. If on each event we could have one custom field that could be passed that would be better than the event description. Because right now our Descriptions look like this:
[ACTCODE1] Then the event description.
So when people register the code is always there and looks kind of annoying. But it's the only option we have with our other event registration provider.
I passed this request along to our product manager who handles EventSpot so that he can look into whether we can get the event descrtiption available through the Authorize.net API in the future.
Unfortunately I can't provide a timeline on if and when this will be implemented, but I will keep you updated. Thank you for the feedback.

Thanks for your response. Please pass along that we would be willing to pay toward the R&D of this enhancement and be involved in the beta version.
Hey Keith, just wanted to clarify that while the team will look into this, our Authorize.net payment processing is built on the Propay portal stack so we are limited in what we can and can't pass to Authorize.net. Without the dev team looking at it yet, I don't know if this is possible or not but I just wanted to make sure we set the right expectations that this simply may be impossible for us to do due to technology restrictions. Glad to hear that you're having success with the Authorize.net gateway integration though.
Dave, Thanks for the information. Really in it's most simplistic form, we are just looking for one 10 character field that can be called anything just to pass unique event codes over to our API so the money can land in the correct account. We have this solution handled in Eventbrite, but we don't like their model of paying per registration. This would be pretty huge for us as we have 1 event that is over 10,000 people. And another that is about 8,000 people. With lots of smaller events.
I'll have our Event Product Management team get a response to you on this. As of today, we have not added this feature. However, I can't comment on their roadmap and priorities. I manage the API roadmap which this forum supports.
Thank you for posting on this! My name is Jim Mariano, i manage the event tool here at Constant Contact. So, the story here is that at this moment we can't pass this info to Authorize.net. (This is going to get into the weeds quickly.) but here is the story. We do not directly integrate with Authorize.net. We integrate with ProPay's "Protect Pay"which gets us an easy integration into Authorize.net. So, we completely understand the request, and we've approached it a few times and have not been able to provide clever work-arounds or solutions. I will touch base with ProPay, in hopes of changing their API to support the passing of a description field, but at the moment we can't support this.
So, rest assured we completely understand the request, and will do our best to accomodate, but we are currently blocked.
Lastly, Constant Contact now offers "WePay," as a credit card processing option in all of our payment transacting products and WePay does support a description field. Additionally, WePay has a very very simple sign-up flow and is priced competitively. More info here: https://www.wepay.com/developer/faq/pricing?amount=100&app_fee=5&fee_payer=payer&paid_with=credit_ca...
Thank you all for posting. Please keep the feedback coming! We use this community's feedback in general to help us form our road map.

Any update on this? Authorize.net said that CC/EventSpot would have to program this in order for it to end up in their reporting fields. It is frustrating to not be able to see detail on Authorize.net reports on what tickets are being purchased or what events the transaction should be associated with or even just that the transaction came from CC/EventSpot.
