We have clients who do not use PayPal and do use the Events Feature and want to setup an integrated payment pay flow between an outside merchant virtual terminal account that does have an API and the Constant Contact Events Feature with API Integration.
Clearly put: when attendees register for an event, they should also be given an option to pay now to COMPLETE the entire event registration process. Once this is complete and the payment is made, the merchant account virtual terminal API will send that payment status/info over to the Constant Contact API and change the payment status of the attendee.
What solutions exist or are in place for this activity?
The client currently is using a Canadian Gateway Service Called "Moneris eSelect Plus Account" that does have gateway support for a wide range of existing shopping carts.

Currently the Event Marketing API features are Read Only. We're looking at opening them up this year to also programatically registering people through the API. We'll continue to update our documentation and developers on these features throughout the year, our Developer Newsletter is the best source for update information.
We're also have taken feedback on having other payment portals available other than PayPal. I've sent your feedback on additional portals to our Event Marketing team, specifically Moneris eSelect Plus Account.
