Stop redirecting to Thank you page

Please Help. I am trying my best to figure out how to make it so that when a user fills out the email signup form on the website it doesnt navigate away to a thank you page. I have used other email list forms and the Thank you or errors will pop up on the list itself once submitted. For the life of me I can't figure it out in constant contact.

This is a link for our site with the form http://www.constantsocial.com/shapesbrowbar/welcome.html

I am going to I frame this into Facebook and can't have it navigate away once user hits submit... Is there anything anyone would recommend?

Thank you

Re: Stop redirecting to Thank you page

Hey Xander,

There are a ton of ways you can do this.  You could set an empty variable at the bottom of the page and once they fill out the form you just have the variable populate with a Thank you or if it didnt validate you can always post your error in that variable.

Also if you are getting a 401 error your credentials are not being passed in correctly and our server is rejecting your authorization.  If you want to provide us with the code we can check out what could possibly be going wrong.

Re: Stop redirecting to Thank you page

Thank you for your help  Ryan,

I love the sounds of the empty variable option that populates with a "Thank you or error message" when user hits submit.
What code can I send your way? I basically downloaded the CCSFG_0.0.6 Zip file. from the developer.constantcontat.com website.  This form ( http://constantsocial.com/shapesbrowbar/welcome.html# ) will again be Iframed into Facebook so diverting a user to another page isn't what we want to do.
It sounds like this is possible and the code looks like it can be changed in the  CCSFG_0.0.6/signup/index.php section.  Please let me know if this is the code you want me to send over or if it is the actualy code for the form itself..

If it doesn't work, I guess I could also style the new page that opens up after hitting submit and then have a link that says "to get back to facebook" click here. Not sure what would be easier..

I really appreciate your help,

Xander

Re: Stop redirecting to Thank you page

I would like to do the same thing on my site. Here is the Opt In code I am using:

<form name="ccoptin" action="http://visitor.r20.constantcontact.com/d.jsp" target="_blank" style="padding:5px;" method="post"><input type="hidden" name="llr" value="plclcdfab"><input type="hidden" name="m" value="1104983460207"><input type="hidden" name="p" value="oi"><img src="http://www.effiespaper.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/likestyles_helv.jpg"></font>&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp&nbsp<input type="text" name="ea" #666666;" size="26" align= "right" value="" style="font-size:10pt; border: 8px solid cellspacing="0" style="padding:5px;" #666666;"><input type="image" name="submit" src="http://www.effiespaper.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/ep-website-sign-up-button.png" align= "right" width="60" height="58" border="0" />

I would like the data to be submitted to my CC list but, if the fields are entered sucessfully have it redirect back to a Thank You page on my site.

Any help you can offer would be great.

Re: Stop redirecting to Thank you page

Hello,

The code you provided is that obained from our user interface. As this code is designed to be as simple to implement as possible, and to use programming hosted on our side to create your contact (no need to code an API Reuqest), it is limited in several ways, and cannot be modified to specify different success pages. We do have an option that allows this behavior, however, and will likely have more customizability through the user interface (website) in the future as well.

The Constant Contact Signup form Generator is a PHP application that you can install on your web host or server. As it must run in your server environment, you'll have to work with a developer or someone with knowledge of your web host or server if you have problems with the installation. This package will allow you to set landing pages during the form setup process.

If your website is based on Wordpress, Joomla, Drupal and possibly other Content Management Systems (CMS), you should search for plugins/widgets for those systems, as you can usually install these more easily through the dashboard interface of the CMS.

A third options is to custom-code a script that processes your form data, makes the API requests, processes the response from our API, and redirects displays an error, or redirects to a thank you page. In this case, you'd need to work with a developer of  your choice, and we could offer guidance and documentation. We have some Wrapper Libraries that can help simplify the coding of the API Requests, as our system currently requires these to be authenticated, and to include the data being submitted in formatted XML.

I hope that's helpful. Let me know if you have any more questions.
