11 ways to compete with the big business on America's biggest shopping day Black Friday. Just because you do not have the ability to give deep discounts on your products that the big stores can, doesn't mean your business can't profit from the Black Friday rush.

1. Provide extra support and service.

 

Small businesses have one major advantage over big businesses, that is their ability to offer personal attention to each customer. Offering services such as hassle free refunds, extended support, and other assurances make buyers feel like they have received great customer service and a great deal at the same time.

 

2. Encourage gift card purchases.

 

According to Kathy Grannis of the National Retail Foundation, "8 out of 10 shoppers" had gift cards on their holiday shopping list. Offering gift cards for your business provides additional income and promotes the gift recipient to spend even more at your shop.

 

3. Offer free setup.

 

Offering free setup is a great way to make the customer feel like they got a deal, and can make your business stand out above the rest.

 

4. Promote special deals for special customers.

“Special” may mean anybody on your marketing email list. Send a coupon for an exclusive discount on Black Friday.
