3 Tips to Get Your Marketing Emails Opened

 
Greetings!

 

You've worked hard to develop an email with excellent content and a clean graphic layout. Now you're all set, right?  

 

Wrong!

 

It doesn't matter how good your email message is if no one is opening your emails. But don't worry; follow the steps below, and you'll be increasing your open rate in no time.  

 

  • Get Permission: Make sure you are sending to people that want to hear from you. Otherwise, you're just sending SPAM.
  • Use the Right "From Name":  Your name may be Pete Smith, but if you're the owner of Joe's Pizzeria, be careful.  Always send emails from the name your customers will recognize and expect.
  • Write a Good Subject Line: At our email seminars we teach theRule of 2 to help with writing good subject lines.

    Rule of "2" for Good Subject Lines
  1. TWO Seconds: You have just two seconds to grab someone's attention in the inbox. Keep your subject line short (5-8 words), sweet, and to the point.
  2. TWO WordsPay extra attention to your first two words since often your subject line will be cut off on a mobile phone and other devices.
  3. TOdayWhen appropriate, give your subject line some urgency. A message of "50% off today only" is going to inspire more action than "April Promotion."
