5 Reasons to Invest in Employee Development

Does your company/organization participate in an employee development plan? We sure do here. Every year we have to fill out our yearly reviews which include a development plan for the upcoming year. This is important to us as it puts down on paper what we'd like to strive to complete and as the year goes on, we see if we are meeting our own goals. 


Over at Inc.com, Chad Halvorson (Founder and CEO of When I Work) shared 5 reasons why you should have employee development. His reasons are listed below. 


  • This helps to attract and keep great employees. 
  • It helps you create promotable employees: This helps you to see who is performing above the rest and lets you know that this person should be promoted!
  • It helps keep employees engaged. An engaged employee is a happy one. If employees are bored then they can turn negative and hurt the rest of the team.
