60% of all consumers use Google search to find businesses, and over 80% of online searches result in direct sales or in-store visits.
Making sure your website is optimized to show up at the top of these results should be a top priority. Since Google is always updating their search algorithm, you can’t just set this up and forget about it. You will need to continue making updates to help people find you. Thankfully, Duct Tape Marketing broke down a list of the steps you will want to regularly complete to stay ahead of the curve.
Keyword research. Understand the current search landscape or try using Google’s Keyword Planner specific for your industry.
Create great content. Keep keywords in mind when approaching your content. Use these words as “springboards” for the topics you write about.
Speed it up! Did you know Google is starting to punish slow running websites? Posting content on your page can slow it down so keep up with how it’s running.
Use Landing Pages. Consider using multiple landing pages to test out keywords, promotions or other offers.
Update Page Titles. If your business name is not optimized it’s a best practice to update your page titles to be Company + Service Format.
