Entrepreneur.com recently shared and article called “How to Attract Customers Through Pinterest” that points out how Pinterest is just as important as Facebook & Twitter when using Social Media to market. As of 2014, Pinterest had more than 70 million unique visitors and was driving more traffic to websites and blogs than Twitter, YouTube, Google+ and LinkedIn COMBINED.
If you aren’t familiar with Pinterest yet, here’s a quick explanation. Pinterest is a free site that allows you (as a registered user) to create, manage and save media content (images and videos) through collections known as pinboards. It’s perfect to use if you have an interesting story to tell, if you want to establish yourself as an expert on a topic or if you want to interface with your clients and work with them in a visual manner.
It only takes a few minutes to set up. Once you’ve got the basics down, here are four suggestions on how to user Pinterest to build honest, long lasting relationships with your customers.
1. Engage with other users. Tag them using the @ sign or regularly like other people’s pins when you recognize great content.
2. Become an information curator for your niche. Being a Pinterest curator means you pick the best images, and then organize them in an interesting way that benefits your core audience.
3. Feature user-generated content. Set up a “guest pinner” program for your best customers to pin to your boards. Just set some basic guidelines!
4. Create boards for conferences you attend. Use this board for networking before, during and after events.
