First things first… Personal account or business account? Not sure which one to choose? Ask yourself what your primary goal is for this network. If your goal is to show your personal life, we know which one you will choose. If your goal is to promote or grow your business, then make sure to set up a business account. We are going to focus on the business account for Instagram. Let’s dig in!
In Summer of 2016 Instagram allowed businesses of any size to create an business profile on their network. Using a business profile gets you access to business tools that a regular profile doesn’t have.
Already have a profile and need to convert it? You can do this through settings (that gear icon) and “Switch to Business Profile.” Please note: As of this posting, it appears as though this feature is still rolling out to all Instagram users, if you do not see this as an option it may not be available yet for your region/account.
You will need to link your business profile to a Facebook business page (you can only link to one page). Once you have linked your profile, make sure to update you’re your contact information – phone, email and address.
Pretty easy, right? Now you have access to insights for your posts and your account and ads! Take a look here for more information about setting up an Instagram Business Account.
