Small Business Saturday is a movement, and it is great for all small businesses, but your business cannot survive with the proceeds from this one day. When thinking about Small Business Saturday, you want to think of the promotions to get people in the door or to your site; however, don’t forget to make the experience a great one so they want to come back.
There are many ways that you can get these customers to become regulars, or even entice your regulars to come back more often. Think about running a promotion where if they spend a certain amount, buy a certain number of items that they can get a coupon for a percentage off their next visit. For example, if a customer spends $50.00, then they get a coupon to come back and get $5.00 off of their next purchase of $25.00 or more. These are the kinds of things that always have me going back for more because I do not want to miss out on the discount.
In a recent article on American Express’s Open Forum Phaedra Hise discusses “3 ways to use Small Business Saturday as a jumping off point to help attract new business and increase sales.” Phadrea’s 3 ideas are great! I am going to touch on 2 of the topics brought up, so make sure to head over to read the full article here to see all 3 ways in full detail.
