Sometimes, the Video Doesn't Have to Go Viral

We all watch the videos that go viral, on Twitter or on Facebook. Do you ever wonder how they went viral to begin with? And how do you make your video go viral? I wonder how to make our videos viral all the time. Maybe if I share with my friends and ask them to share? But, that is not always the way it works.

Robert J Moore, of RJMetrics, wrote a blog post that was featured on the NYTimes Blog about how he didn't need his video to go viral to get the results he needed. Now, don't get him wrong, he really did want his rap video to go viral. But only a handful of people ended up seeing it. Out of that small market that the video was relevant to, his company found some of his biggest clients.

So when you make a video, make it for your audience. Don't make it so that it goes viral and ends up being shared by Ellen DeGeneres.
