There are few things that honestly feel better than helping out someone else who is in need. Today over at Inc.com they posted an article "9 Ways That Doing Good Will Help Your Company Do Well" and these tips are fantastic! Here at Constant Contact, we are given volunteer hours and are urged to use them to help others.
Last month, the Community Team volunteered at the Boston Food Bank. We sorted Watermelon to be passed out to food banks in Eastern Mass. It felt great to be able to give back, even if it was just watermelon. Our afternoon sorting, provided watermelon for 13, 869 people and we sorted 18,043 pounds between the 20 of us that were there total. I left feeling rejuvenated and like a part of a bigger community.
This really goes hand in hand with #2 on the list of 9 that it does boost your employees morale. I feel very proud to work for a company that urges us to give back, whenever we can. Sure, it helps Constant Contact get recognition of giving back, but the reward of how the employees feel far outweighs that.
Here are some pics from our volunteer day!
