What is the best way to get new customers without using coupons?

Our company is a Preservation Services company. We essentially do everything from cleaning, lawn care, and pool care to roof repairs and bigger rehabilitaion jobs on homes. Unfortunatly it is very hard to offer coupons in newsletters in our industry. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to grow our consumer customer base without using coupons?

Ronnie,

Do you do repeat business with your customers or is it pretty much "One and Done" ?

Hi Ronnie and welcome to the forum.

I had a contractor build a deck for me recently. He asked to put a sign in our front yard. That way, our neighbors could see who was doing the work and because we used that company, they might also feel safe using them. The most important part of that equation of course is that you "WOW" your customer. Go above and beyond. When you do this, news travels even faster and could lead to more referrals.

I would also present that customer that you just helped a coupon for an additional service from you. For example, if you've just cleaned their pool, you could give them a coupon for 15% off lawn services.

I hope this helps a bit. Good luck!

Hi Ronnie - When you do everything, people receiving that message might get confused. However, when you provide information by creating content about an actual service, using pictures, and adding a testimonial, the prospect see's a different picture of your services. Using the three together is a winner.

I also recommend a company like yours should consider a Unique Selling Proposition or a USP. A USP helps a customer understand what important benefit(s) they'll receive when they use your products or services. Here is a link to the post: http://bit.ly/LqhGOf
