Have you ever wondered what the difference is between Facebook's Sponsored Stories, Page Post Ads, Promoted Posts, and Marketplace Ads is?  Well, if you're on Facebook you've probably seen them and been curious at one time.  Thanks to InsideFacebook, they've broken down the 4 types of marketing on Facebook.

Sponsored Stories:

Sponsored Stories will only display to the friends of a user who is already connected to your page or app

Page Post Ads:

"Page Post Ads are advertisements that begin as posts on a fan page but get additional paid distribution among fans, friends of fans, or non fans within News Feed or the sidebar".

Promoted Posts:

With Promoted Posts, you pay a flat rate to reach a number of people.  These are your own posts that you choose to promote through the promote button.

Marketplace Ads:

Marketplace Ads are the ads that display on the sidebar of any page you're looking at on Facebook.
