Email Campaign Folder support

Now that CC has introduced folders for organizing email campaigns (hooray!), what kind of timeline is there for API support for folders?

Hi,

 

You are the first to ask!  As such, before we can plan or evaluate, we should know what you'd like to be able to do.  Would you just want to be able to get a list of emails in a given folder, and put emails into folders?  Thank you for the feedback!

I'd say these functions would be most important, in this order:

 

  1. Add a campaign to a folder
  2. Remove/change a campaign's folder
  3. List campaigns within a folder

Umm... what happened to the folders? I spent two hours sorting my 4522 email campaigns into folders, and now when I log in they're gone.

Sorry for the scare.  If you go to status.constantcontact.com, you can see that folders had to be taken down (there were some stability/sluggishness issues), but your sorting is still there and you will see it return once we work out the issues.  There isn't a timeframe on when they will be back up yet, but it is a high priority for us.

Wanted to give an update on the product roadmap for you.  We are launching V2 of our API very soon, which will feature JSON support. As we're working towards releasing V2 of the API, we are no longer going to be adding any new functionality to V1 (the XML based API). 

 

We're planning at adding Email Folder support for V2 API in a post launch release (not going to be available in the initial feature release for V2), currently we're targetting having this added in May.  It's very timely that you asked for an update today as we have engineers working on this right now.  Will have additional updates soon as we know more!

Hi Mike,

 

Sorry for the delay on updates here.  We unfortunaly are going to have to delay adding folder support until at least later in the year due to other priorities.  We are instead going to be releasing API endpoints for our MyLibrary and Event products over the summer (you'll start to see these new endpoints rolloing out progressively starting in a couple of weeks). 

 

We are working on a more public facing roadmap so you can see what we're working on regularly and also a better feedback tracking system for developers so we can better track what you want us to add.  You should see these rolling out soon as well.
