Getting 404 error for valid campaign query

In my applciation, I make a query to get the SENT campaigns, then make successive queries to get campaign details for a selected group of specific campaigns by id. ONE campaign id fails with a 404 item not found error. Why would this happen? There is nothign special about the campaign or about the campaign number that would make it any different from others in the list. All are shown in the web interface.
