Registring for events using API (or any other way)

One section of our website requires user registration and login (with email being username). This section also lists events (using the APIs). We want users to register for events by using their email address that they have used to login to our site.

I tried to find out APIs for registrations but could not find one. Are there any APIs for registration? If not, is there any work around such as passing email address in URL (or form) to Constant Contact event registration page?

Re: Registring for events using API (or any other way)

Hi Jeannie,

Unfortunately, you cannot register someone using the event API. A summary of what registrant functions you can perform are listed at the following URL: http://community.constantcontact.com/t5/Documentation/Managing-Registrants-and-Guests/ba-p/25097. However, me may be adding that functionality at a future date. So, I encourage you to subscribe to our newsletter at http://developer.constantcontact.com/ for updates on this functionality. (The signup box is located on the right-hand side.)

Thanks for getting back on this

Is there anyway we can at least initialize values in email & confim email text boxes on event registration page? such as by sending as form fields or url etc? This might be little change in the code on your side but would go miles for the users like us.

Re: Registring for events using API (or any other way)

Hi Jeannie,

Unfortunately not. Most of the variables are passed via POST rather than GET and a lot of the content on the form is generated using JavaScript. POST requests are generated using a <form> tag and many e-mail clients (e.g., Outlook 2007, Yahoo! Classic, Hotmail) will disable the functionality of HTML forms in e-mails.
