Scheduling a registration date dependent series of weekly emails to new subscribers

Hi,

I'm looking for advice to pass on to our website developer.

We would like to enable users who sign up via our Wordpress website to receive a series of scheduled weekly emails (sent via CC) - where the mail sent depends on their sign-up date. I.e.

Anyone signing up between 01-08 Feb will receive Email1 on 09 Feb, Email 2 on 16 Feb, Email 3 on 23 Feb

Anyone signing up between 09-16 Feb will receive Email1 on 17 Feb, Email 3 on 24 Feb, Email 3 on 2 March

etc...

Can this be done? How should we do it?

Also, the registration form asks lots of questions. This data needs to be stored in the WordPress database, although it would be useful if core contact info were also stored in Constant Contact. Does this have any implications we need to think about?

What do I need to ask my developer to do?!!! Thanks so much for your help!

Cheers

Nik

Hello,

You can absolutely accomplish your goals! The best solution would be to build an integration that simply adds new users to a specific list in your Constant Contact account. In addition to that, you would want to set up an Autoresponder in your account that would allow you to create the email series. Once you've created and activated the Autoresponder, any contacts that are added to the associated list(s) will receive the email series based on the date they were added to the list.

You can read about autoresponder here:

https://knowledgebase.constantcontact.com/articles/KnowledgeBase/5521-about-autoresponder

As for the API integration, you would need to integrate into your sign-up process a method to send those new contacts over to your Constant Contact account through the API. You can read about using the API to create contacts here: http://developer.constantcontact.com/docs/developer-guides/working-with-contacts.html#create_contact

If this is your first time working with our API, you can also find out Get Started guide here: http://developer.constantcontact.com/get-started.html

Alternatively, If you have a relatively low volume of new signups, you could integrate with our custom signup forms. This system has a limit of 200 signups/day, but is also much simpler to integrate. You can read a bit more about this option here: http://developer.constantcontact.com/docs/signup-forms-tools/custom-signup-forms.html

Lastly, if you have any questions, please let me know!

Sincerely,
