Re: Skip Constant Contact credentials login screen

Hi,

Each Constant Contact account that uses your application will have to enter their credentials ONCE to generate an access token for future authentication.  If it's just one account, you could hard code your access token in (though storing it in a database would be recommended).  Once that access token is generated for an account, you can store it and bypass the part where they enter their credentials.  Then if the user is logged into your system, or you have some other way to identify them, you can match their unique identifier on your side with their access token and use that to authenticate to us.  The authentication  header will look something like:

"Authorization: Bearer access_token_value"

Re: Skip Constant Contact credentials login screen

My question is similar. Once we've had a user go throught he OAuth process and now have their username and an access token stored, we'd like to be able to create a link that automatically logs them into Constant Contact. The use case being a scenario in which the user comes to our site first to take care of some tasks, and we then want to pass them over to Constant Contact in a logged-in state so that they can create an email. It seems like something like this was perhaps possible in 2010, but I'm not seeing anything now.

Re: Skip Constant Contact credentials login screen

Hi,

There is a method we give to Constant Contact partners to log their users into Constant Contact.  If you are not already a partner, you can sign up to become one here.  If you are already a partner, just email webservices@constantcontact.com with your partner name, and we will give you the information for 'single sign on.'
