Subscription to different lists

We have a site a.com and b.com, and correspondingly a_list and b_list.

We faced a small problem, when the user of "a.com" site is subscribed to a_list and then the same user using the same email on b.com site tries to subscribe to b_list. We receive the error 409:

WE'RE SORRY!
IT APPEARS THAT YOU ARE ALREADY A SUBSCRIBER OF OUR MAILING LIST."

The code of the form is created using Constant Contact Signup Form Generator (CCSFG)

Probably the lists are merged in the admin panel? Can we cancel this option somehow?

We'll appreciate your advice on this point!

Hello Lisa,

The issue that you are experiencing is actually a desgin feature of the CCSFG where it is not capable of submitting a contact that already exists. We do offer a modified version by request that does not have this limitation, but it is only offered by request because there is a minor security concern.

I would suggest taking a moment to read more about the security risk of using the mofidied version here.

If you would like to have the modified version without the limitation on updating contacts please send an email to webservices@constantcontact.com and we will be able to assist you further!

Sincerely,

Elijah G.
