bulkUrlEncoded with custom fields

Hi,

I am Adding/ Updating the contacts using  bulkUrlEncoded  method . I am saving some data into custom Fields which has got an anchor tag to a page in my application.  If i am using add/update instead of  bulkUrlEncoded  data is being saved properly in the custom fields  but if I am using  bulkUrlEncoded  its saving in the encoded format.

Actually i am supposed to send email to the list of contacts with a click  here in the email body. in the first case its working fine but coming to the bulkUrlEncoded case i am unable to click the link  in the email due to the encoded format  in it.

How can this be resolved......????????

Re: bulkUrlEncoded with custom fields

Hi,

I see that you must be HTML encoding the string, because it has & and <, etc.  If you're using the bulk URL encoding method, you should be passing us a url encoded string, not an html encoded string.

Try un-html encoding your string, url encode it, and try passing in the string with only url encoding present.  I can't be 100% sure our underlying services will un-url encode at the end so that you get your values as desired, but it is the best shot for success here.  If that doesn't work, I'd recommend using a file upload method with the columns precisely labeled, since I know that method does work.

Re: bulkUrlEncoded with custom fields

Hi,

If i am using the HttpUtility.UrlEncode(data) without using server.htmlencode( custom field1) the  then data is not getting saved in the custom fields..

Where can i find this file upload method can you provide me sample code for that...

Re: bulkUrlEncoded with custom fields

Hi,

Which wrapper are you using?  It looks like it might be one of our .net wrappers, but I'm not sure which one.  It might not have a file import method built in, but you could put one in by copying & modifying a few things in the bulkUrlEncoded method, like changing the input source and content-type.
