You can add my +1 for this too. Lately I have had numerous chats with tech support, which means many versions of the same email are saved. I would love to change the name after it is sent, especially so reporting shows "November Newsletter" and not ctct copy of revision of November Newsletter.
I'd be happy to submit your vote on this topic as well.
A year and a half of customers saying they think this would be very useful, and a year and a half of Constant Contact saying, "Gee, you're right, this would be good. We'll pass this along to our developers." And nothing accomplished, nothing done.
Very disappointing customer service.
I apologize for the frustrations our developers take all feedback seriously, and strive to make our product better everyday but unfortunately this options is still not available.
We do however have a new feature released today that allows you to move emails to folders, this could be a work around while our developers continue to review the Renaming functionality.
Another vote for rename feature - I mean, really - how hard can this be?
I have added your vote for this feature as well, thank you for the feedback.
That would be nice except for the fact that there is no "email marketing" tab.
I'm happy to pass along your feedback as well about renaming an email that has already been sent!
You're right, since the last comments there have been some updates in your account. The tab is now labeled "Email" and falls toward the top of the page on the left.
Hope this helps.
Thanks for sharing your ideas. Currently the email can only be renamed while it is in draft form but I am happy to add your name to this suggestion.
I have read the forums, but still cannot see how to change the name of an email in Draft mode. When you are given the option to copy an existing file when creating an email, there should be a "Save As" option. Currently I would like to know how to rename an email that is in Draft mode. Thank you!
When your email is in draft mode, you want to click on the name of it to go into the edit screen. Once there, you will see the current name of the email up in the top left under "Customize Your Email". To the left of where it says "Draft", you can see a little pencil icon. Just click anywhere on the name of your email and it will open up so you can edit the name.
I hope that helps!
It shouldn't be this complicated. I need to be able to change the name of the emails that I already sent.
Unfortunately, once an email has been sent, you can no longer edit it, including editing the name of the email.
I apologize for any inconvenience.
Could you guys change things so that we can have that capability? Just curious. Thanks.
I'd be happy to submit a request to our developers to have the ability to edit a sent email name within your account. As we get more people requesting this feature, it becomes a higher demand for our developers and then they will make the decision if they will implement it. Please keep sending feedback so that we can enhance the products that you have with us!
It's now 2013 and we'd still like to see this feature. Please provide an update to your paying customers. Thank you
Please add my name as well. This is a simple and basic function and it is really needed!
You can change the name of an draft email by following the steps below. However, an email that is sent already cannot have the name changed.
1. At the top left of screen, click the text that says "Email Created 20XX/XX/XX, X:XX" with today’s date and time.2 Type in a name that will help you easily identify the email in a list (your contacts will not see this name).
Example: “Fall Festival Update”
How do you change the name of an e-mail draft if you are using your own 'Custom Template'? When I click on the 'Edit' button there is no pencil image next to the name and no other way to re-name the draft. See the screenshot below.
