Animation in email

Has anyone put an animation into an email, if so what type of file did you use? How did it work?

Well you can embed .jpg images, so possibly you might be able to embed .gif - which would mean you might be able to embed animated .gifs also.. I seem to recall though that .jpg are the only supported items for embedding - no idea what would happen if you tried to embed a .swf file.

I'm using a .gif file in one of my emails and it works great. You have to make sure it's properly optimized. Somehow I doubt a .swf would play well with the CTCT scripting in their templates, but I bet if you used your own custom coded newsletter it might work out.
