Re: Bullet Point HELP PLEASE!

[ Edited ]

Hello Helen,

We do not have a time frame on when this will be resolved.  You can always use the workarounds listed before by Andrew an Jarrad (· or · ).

If you wanted to edit the space around the bullets to be able to use the bullet feature through our toolbar, and are familiar with code, you can edit the UL tag to read something like this (I have bolded the part that you might need to add):

<ul align="left" style=" padding: 0px 10px 0px 10px; "> You can edit the Padding px number to achieve the correct spacing that you would want.  If you want consistent padding on each side, you can then put in just one number, otherwise you can add the 4 numbers to adjust padding per side (the numbers represent padding for the toprightbottomleft respectively).

Hope this helps!

Re: Bullet Point HELP PLEASE!

You'll want to make the padding like this, padding: 0px 10px 0px 10px, using pixels (or percentages) not points.

Re: Bullet Point HELP PLEASE!

Of course be careful with padding as it doesn't display consistently across all email platforms, so you might not end up with anything useful this way either. Kind of amazing that this is going on 2 years outstanding as a bug!

Create a Custom Email using the Advanced Editor

[ Edited ]

We understand that sometimes you want a little more control. Do you have a custom built HTML or XHTML email? Our Advanced editor will allow you to use your custom code with Constant Contact!

Warning: You must have experience with HTML, XHTML and web design tools.

To create a custom email from your own code:

1. Login to your Constant Contact account.

2. Click the Emails tab.

3. From the Emails tab, click Create.

4. On the left of the page scroll down until you see the “Use Own Code” button, click this button.customcode.jpg

5. Enter Email name, click Next.

6. Choose HTML or XHTML format.

7. Customize the header and footer information as well as the greeting using the tabs on the left.

8. Click “Advanced Editor” to paste in custom code.

Using your own code is a great way to carry along your branding or design. Remember to use the same best practices that you would in a Constant Contact template. Make images clickable links, include social media buttons and make sure you are communicating to the audience you want to reach.

More questions about Custom Code? Check out this How-To Guide on Building your email with the Advanced Editor Tool.

Re: Invalid URL

Hi Andy!

When looking over your coding, I found a section that states the following:

<TD ROWSPAN=2>
<A HREF="ddddd">
<IMG src="http://whoartnow.co.uk/images/News/newart/ContactShee--71_06.gif" WIDTH=8 HEIGHT=577 BORDER=0 ALT=""></A>

That URL is "ddddd". You'll want to remove that or update it to a URL and then you shouldnt receive that error anymore.

Hope that helps!

Hi Vanessa,

I'm happy to help out with the formatting of bullets in Outlook. I noticed that you have already removed the bullets from that email. It is tough to pinpoint the exact formatting error that was occurring. I copied that email and added bullets to the "Keyboard" section so that you can check the HTML code of that block to see how it should be formatted in the future.

Also, next time something like this happens you can receive immediate support by contacting our support team.

• Call: 1-866-289-2101 (Monday - Thursday 7:00 AM - 11:00 PM EST, Friday 7:00 AM - 9:00 PM EST, and Saturday - Sunday 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM EST)

• Use Live Chat or other Support options by visiting: https://ui.constantcontact.com/support/index.jsp

I hope this was helpful. Let us know if there is anything else we can do to help.

I am so sorry, I did remove the bullets while waiting to hear back from you...my supervisor ended up liking it better. I apologize for not replying to this post sooner.
