It would be extremely helpful if I could type a couple words to search for in past campaigns. Then I could easily locate the different emails we have used to market past events we are repeating. Thanks!
Hi, my program has been using CC since it first started. I have just a few things that would be great, if you could consider adding in your next update:
1. It would be really helpful when you are in your contacts list, to be able to choose the fields displayed. For example, right now you can only choose from either (name, email, date added, source) OR (name, email, conmpany, city/state). It would be great if you could add other field options...esp. Tags. It would be much easier to edit tags that are missing as you see them, instead of opening each record and/or exporting and re-uploading the list (as many times the tags do not get transferred)
2. It would also be very helpful if there was a search bar that you could search by the name of the email instead of just a date range.
3. also, the sort doesn't really work. If you want to sort sent emails from new to old, it does not sort them correctly. the dates are all mixed up. Not sure if it is sorting by date modified or actual sent date.
Hey @LESLIED, thanks so much for your detailed feedback! I definitely understand how these items would make the usability of Constant Contact a much better experience.
Regarding the sorting issue, sorting from new to old would sort the campaigns based on the date they were created. If you wanted to see the campaigns based on the date they were last updated, whether it be an edit, scheduling it, or changing a setting on that campaign, you'd want to select the option to sort by "Last modified".
I hope this helps and let me know if you have any questions.
I was just about to request this feature - to be able to search a campaign by keywords. I'm tired of scrolling page by page when I can't remember the date something was sent - but remember what it was about. We often send thank you messages to event attendees. It would be great to be able to search based on type of event keyword in the email campaign, copy that and edit. Pretty please can we have this? It would make life so much easier!
Please add a Search feature to the All Campaigns email library. It is very difficult to find a unique email within the sent library. A simple word search would be great! Thank you! Kelli Grisez, Compass Media Networks
I think many of us in this great community would support the idea of adding a "Search" function. I noticed that it has been bought up many times in other posts.
Please add a "Search" function, it would make using Constant Contact much easier and quicker!
Honestly? Three and a half years since a search functionality has been initially requested -- in this thread only, because there are others -- and still nothing! WOW. Constant contact, really? Three and a half years and you have not gotten to that place in your platform development roadmap that says "now let's give them campaign search"?
Added to the impossibility of easily excluding a list of tagged contacts, that -- for me -- is the second pointer that you don't much care for your clients. At this point I am not changing providers only because I don't have the time for the research, the move, the adjustment etc.
PS -- just noticed excluding lists by tag is implemented. It differs however from the help file explaining how it functions, so I am off to try and decipher whether "Limit by tag" means only send to those also tagged with XYZ, or send to all above but those tagged XYZ. Oh well..
I am just going to keep posting every few months that you need a SEARCH bar-my first post was three years ago! At this point, I have pages and pages that I have to click through to try and find an email that I sent just a few months ago.
Stop using your resources to take away features people use, e.g. HTML Code editing, and give them something that everyone wants--a SEARCH bar! I can't believe that you haven't added this annually, #1 Request yet!
At the very least, tell us WHY you aren't listening to your users, is it not possible to do for some reason? Can you imagine not having a Search Feature in Outlook or Apple Mail?
Hey @CarolineF5, I completely understand your frustration and do apologize that we haven't implemented a search feature for your campaigns yet. I know it can be quite difficult to manage your campaigns and I agree that having a search feature would be a game changer. I can tell you that we are actively working on a search feature for the campaigns. We don't have an exact ETA for when this will be released, however with this being such an anticipated feature, we want to make sure we have everything buttoned up and ready to go. I know we've all been waiting for quite some time and I'll make sure to keep everyone in the loop because this is a feature that I know we are all very much looking forward to using.
I feel your frustration. There are many features that CC has altered or removed over the years that adds to the time it takes to complete tasks. Quite often I find myself complaining that the engineers must be drinking too much Red Bull and Vodka as most of the features they add make no sense or completely convolute a simple process into a multi task process that becomes worthless. Arrgh!
I am however, one of the lucky ones that is being allowed to test the beta version of a campaign search feature. Over the course of this last year this test version has gone through a few changes, mostly all for the better. Once it is released I think you will be happy with it. I have to say that the testing process is painfully slow but the engineers, or whoever, are listening and the product is improving.
I log in to Constant Contact today and what do I behold up at the top of the page but a SEARCH BAR! It might need a bit of straightening-out, but it found all the campaigns I was looking for anyway.
Thank you, Constant Contact, and our benevolent overlord Jeff Bezos
I would so appreciate a search function. We do things seasonally, and instead of scrolling back through months of old emails I'd love to be able to search so that I can easily locate, copy, and modify an old one!
Hey @SandyK22, thanks for reaching out! We've been working hard on creating a new feature that allows you to search through your campaigns and events and we've been progressively enabling this on accounts. I just checked your account and it looks like you've got access to this awesome new feature already! All you'll have to do is navigate to the "Campaigns" tab on your account and there will be a "Search Campaigns" option on the right side of the page. It's located just above the list of campaigns. If you have any suggestions or see any issues, please let us know about them.
Thanks again for taking the time to post your feedback!
The search bar function has been implemented, but I am a frustrated that the page search function is now only at the bottom of the page and I have to scroll to get there. Additionally, when I type in an option to 'search' for an event, that doesn't exactly make it much easier since it shows all emails, events, etc.. I am frustrated that the search bar does honor event criteria that has been selected. For instance if I want to search for active events, I click on those fields and then the event title in the search bar, and it gives me every event with that title, not just active ones.
Hey @DeniseR97, thanks for your feedback! We've been working hard on this request and are very close to getting it finished and ready for everyone to use. Once it's released, I'll be updating this thread.
Hey @TimandPamelaM, thanks for your feedback! This is actually something we have in the works! Once it's available to all accounts, I'll be updating this thread.
We often want to see what we said about a similar event in past years, and waste alot of time paging back to find the message(s)! Need to be able to search! Subject line and/or name of message would be OK; even better with search in the content (for newsletters with several topics.) Thanks in advance for considering.
I just want to say THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for FINALLY adding a "search" to help users find previous campaigns that were sent out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! In all my years using CC, I am so happy it's FINALLY a feature you have added!!!! THANK YOU for listening to your users!!!
Hey @Marisa_M, I'm so glad you're enjoying the new search feature! It's something we've worked very hard on and couldn't have done it without the feedback from our users. Let us know if you see anything weird with the search or if you run into issues.
Hey @SusanB26, thanks so much for sharing your idea and feedback! I totally agree that having the ability to search through your past campaigns would be a huge time saver and a lot of other users agree with you. We've actually been working on a feature that does just this and are now slowly rolling it out to our users. You may get it soon but keep an eye out on this thread as I'll be updating it as soon as we've released it to everyone.
Why does it seem that one cannot search via keyword or subject for previous posts? We have years of posts, and to have to search through the full list is such a waste of time. Please email me if I am missing something. Kind regards, Jack Newman Director of Communications Doane Academy
You have changed the search and now only is possible to find emails by date.....it is bad, because sometimes when you try to find an email you dont know the date.
@ManuelL3 I'm sorry that the ability to filter your emails by date is not the perfect feature to help you find your previous campaigns. I can tell you that we are actively working on a search feature for the campaigns. We don't have an exact ETA for when this will be released to you, but I think this will greatly improve your future searches!
Please make the campaigns searchable for key words. Sometimes I forget to rename a campaign I have copied, and it becomes very difficult to find it again without a lot of searching. Doesn't seem to be anyway to do this currently.
Hey @Marisa_M, while many of our users have this ability, we haven't released it to 100% of users yet. Once we do, we'll update and close this thread. The process of enabling this feature is a bit detailed, however, we essentially have to migrate all campaign data into a new index for this tool to be able to search through all of that data. Since this includes all campaigns, it does take a bit of time. We're making great progress though and hope to have this feature available for everyone soon!
I'd like to make another suggestion, since it hasn't been rolled out completely just yet: Can you make it compatible in conjunction with the date filter? Currently, both the date filter and campaign search work independently of each other, so if you are searching for an email with a certain word, within a certain date range, you can't do that. It's one or the other - date range OR search term. It would be great if you could get them to operate together. Thanks in advance
Yes! This feature is slowly but surely rolling out to all of our customers. I don't know exactly when your account will receive it but it is definitely coming.
