I try to post a message here and get a formatting error so I edit and repost. Post flooding error. Edit and post again. Too fast. Wait... Try again. Too many posts. This is the worst experience I have ever had on a customer service website.
The problem is that you are throttling based on attempts to post rather than successful posts.
If an error is flagged when hitting Reply then that is counted as one post. Editing the reply and hitting Reply again is seen as a second post, triggering an error about posting more than one message in sixty seconds. Inaccurate since the first message never technically posted because it was stopped by the editor error.
Waiting sixty seconds and hitting reply then triggers an error about posting a duplicate message. Inaccurate since the first message never technically posted because it was stopped by the throttle error.
After a couple variations the system made me wait 480 seconds to post anything again. All this despite me not having technically posted anything at all.
Sorry for the issues posting, I appreciate you flagging this for us. I agree that editing a message to correct an error shouldn't trigger flood controls or any duplicate message controls. I'll do some testing and check with our community vendor.
