proposed permitting email lists sans consent

I'm a writer of newspaper column and books. Want to expand my readership and sell books. Target market is history professors and newspaper editors. need to acquire email addresses, and you require consent. is compromise possible?

Constant Contact requires that you have prior permission to email these contacts before bringing them into our system so you won't be able to aquire a list and use Constant Contact to email. We do not sell or distribute lists of any kind.
