Thanks in advance -
I make custom art for our emailers specifically sized for the email. Generally 550px width with some padding depending. We switched to 3rd gen editor today and I cannot figure out how to set the exact size of the image to be 550px. When I add the image it only lets me "stretch or shrink" the image manually with the mouse. And if you use the image editor and lock the image to he exact size it still does not adjust the image in the email. And from an artist perspective, I can tell it distorts the image slightly if its not 550px width.
In Gen 2 editor you could type in the exact width of the image. Is this not a basic feature of the new editor?

Thank you for reaching out to our Community with your question! When it comes to the sizing of an image's width, you want to make sure it's 600px in width or less to help prepare your image for uploading. So uploading your image with a width of 550px is a great size!
There currently isn't a way to control the exact dimensions of an image within the third-generation editor. I'm sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. This is however a feature request I have tracked in your account and passed on to our team of engineers. In the meantime you would have to resize your image manually then drag to resize.
I am also trying to specify the exact size of an image without dragging. That method is just not precise enough and I can see the distortion and blurring of the crisp PNG I am working with.
Please add me as a +1 to return precise controls the 3rd Gen Editor!
In the meantime, is there a way to drag-drop an image (already sized exactly as I want it) into the layout editor without automatically resizing? All images I add seem to fill the space rather than keeping its native size.
Thank you for your response to this post and I will absolutely add your account as requesting precise image sizing. There is not a way to drag and drop without the image resizing at this time in the Third Generation editor. I will have our developers recognize that as a request, as well, as I can see how it will benefit our customers. Thank you so much for your feedback, as it is a huge part of the improvements we make to our site!
Please add us to the list of people who would like added to this request! It would be very helpful to have the option to be able to use code because the templates are very limiting.
I will absolutely add that as a request on your account as well! If you have any other feedback or would like any suggestions of workarounds since the code is not accessible, please let us know!
I've only ever used Constant Contacts with the 3rd Gen Editor, but exact image sizing sounds SO MUCH BETTER!!! Count me in. I have been taking some great pictures of our products with a macro lens and don't want to lose that detail in the formatting of our emails.
Welcome back to the Community! Thank you for reaching out with your feedback! I will definitely count your vote as well for changing how images are placed into the editor. I completely understand not wanting to lose the image quality, it's very important!
Please let us know if you have any further questions or feedback.
Just found this discussion after googling this exact problem and can't believe its not an option. Please add me in as a vote for exact image size sizing! For those of us working in photoshop to prep our images, we're creating them specifically for the email and don't want to see them enlarged or shrunk-- I can definitely tell the difference. Thank you!
Thank you for reaching out to the Community! We completely understand how important it is to have beautiful images in your emails, so I would love to submit your feedback on this as well. Please let us know if you have anymore questions or concerns.
Agreed! Being able to make your images the same size would be extremely helpful! We use images for our "Shop" and other buttons so that they are more than just text in a square block, and I can't seem to get them all the same size.
Something that might also be useful would be the ability to copy an image in a block and have it remain the same size when it gets pasted in another part of the column. i.e. When I am working in a three column block, I would like to be able to copy and paste (or drag) my new resized images from one column to the next so that everything is the exact same size. Right now, it seems I can only copy an entire block and not the pieces inside.
Thanks for reaching out to us! I will absolutely add your feedback, I especially like that idea about copying individual blocks inside a row. Let us know if there is anything else we can do for you.
Thank you both for reaching out and providing your feedback on this missing feature. I can understand why precise sizing for images in your email campaign is a needed feature.
I will pass along your feedback to the appropriate teams.
Been watching this....why hasn't this been upgraded yet seeing so many of us want / need this feature? Even has the ability to make the photo "edge-to-edge". Please update this.
Thanks for reaching out to us and providing your feedback. I can definitely see why this would be useful to have the ability to do. I have tracked your feedback in the account and sent to the appropriate teams for review.
Have a great day!
Yeah, add us to the list too. We often run three or four headshots side by side, and need them actually to be *the same size.* The problem with your current sizing mechanism is that it may make a row of headshots look the same size on a desktop, but in the mobile version they are all different sizes and they look TERRIBLE. PLEASE fix this.
We have also submitted this feature request in your account! Also, are you images being uploaded into your library at different sizes? Because our templates are mobile responsive, images that are resized to be smaller in desktop will show as full width on the mobile version. We have seen in some cases where images uploaded at different sizes will resize on a mobile screen at different sizes as well. Images uploaded with larger dimensions will fill the width but smaller images will not.
In our old template we could use images of different sizes and resize them as they got added to the email so they would all appear uniform. Now that we know we have lost this functionality, we know we have to upload images in their final size, which is often an extra step.
Thank you for following up with these details. I took a look at your account and can see many of your templates are both in our newest Third Generation Newsletter Templates and our older Second Generation Legacy Templates. Many of our Legacy Templates are mobile-friendly template and not mobile responsive. A mobile responsive templates will resize based on the screen size of the device. While on the other hand, a mobile-friendly template does not change based on the device being used. I apologize for any inconvenience caused from the difference in these templates. We have successfully tracked your feedback on this in the meantime.
