My account was charged and I don't even have a current card on file. How did that happen?

It looks like the same card used in last year's prepayment was also used in this year's. If you need to update your account's payment info, you can do so from within the My Account page. If a card that isn't associated with an account of yours was charged by us, I'd recommend calling our Billing team so they can securely look up the card info and see if there's any other accounts it'd be connected to.
