Adding PayPal Payment Button

I've watched the tutorial, read the comments, and I'm still getting no where.  Everything says that there is supposed to be an Inserts tab on the left side when I'm creating or editing an email campaign.  But there isn't!!!  The three tabs that I see are "Build", "Images", and "Colors"  HELP!

Hello @OwenD68. I'm sorry that you were not able to add a PayPal Payment button. The video that you watched is referencing a tool that was available on our previous editor. At this time, our next-generation editor, which you are using, does not have the ability to create a PayPal Payment button.

What we recommend is that you use one of our buttons in your email and link it directly to the product or service that you are selling. This link will be found in your PayPal account. I will put in feedback for you regarding the request to have a PayPal Payment button tool in the next-generation editor.

Must be something else left behind in your previous editor version, because there was no "accept solution" button or link in the bottom right corner of your post.

Thanks for getting back to me.

The button showed up only after I had first replied to you.  Something strange going on in the code.  Thanks.

Think the video needs removing to stop new customers wasting time!

Hello @GrahamM449,

Thank you for your feedback! We still have articles and posts relating to our previous editor available as some people are still using that editor. That said, I will be happy to pass your feedback to the appropriate department for review in case there is anything that can be done. We definitely don't want to waste our customers' time!.

Yeah, this is NOT solved. Why would you take away this feature. I want to add a PayPal button. When I ask Sales, they say "Yes"...and you say "NO". Pft.

Hello @SteveG3083,

I apologize for any inconvenience not having a built-in PayPal payment feature may cause. I also apologize if a sales agent gave the incorrect information. It's possible they were thinking of the feature in our second-generation editor. I can say that as a workaround you could insert an image file of a PayPal button and then link it to a PayPal payment page taken from within your PayPal account.

I will also track in your account that you are interested in a built-in PayPal feature in the third-generation editor so it will be seen by our developers.

Yeah, that doesn't work. First, there is no such thing as a PayPal Payment Page unless you create an entire application...which I am not going to do. It's seems amazing that you would ADD friction when migrating from 2nd to 3rd generation...and for eCommerce...this really needs to be fixed.

PROBLEM NOT SOLVED.

Hello @SteveG3083. I'm sorry that you are not able to insert a PayPal button while using our third-generation editor. We have tracked this feedback in your account and sent it over to the appropriate team. Please let us know if there is anything else that we can assist you with.

I got it to work! By reading a post dated 2018 that had current instructions...

Hi @BethH207

That's great! Thank you for letting us know you were able to add your PayPal button. Which instructions helped you do this? We'd love to have those instructions on this thread as well.

Our non-profit organization relies on our ability to collect membership dues through CC email and PayPal.

It has been over a year since you acknowledged that PayPal needs to be added to the 3rd generation editor.

When can we expect it back. We are losing members and going broke.

Thank you for reaching out to the Community. I do apologize this is not an available feature within our 3rd Generation Editor. As a work around in the meantime, you can generate a link and add it to your email by following these steps.

Unfortunately, we do not have an estimated release date at this time. I will certainly track your feedback and send it to our developers. Please let us know if there is anything else that we can assist you with. Thank you and enjoy your weekend.

Yes, I have to agree that seems like a huge functionality drop...I can add a Paypal button to every other application I use.  Seems like a short-sighted move.

Looking forward to the functionality being restored and improved.

Hello @KelleE2,

I'm adding your account to the ongoing feature request as well. I apologize for any inconveniences caused by the system currently lacking this functionality.

The link you provided only works if you created a simple PayPal button, not one where the button has a dropdown with purchasing options or a text field to collect additional information. With sophisticated buttons, you do not get an email tab (when you view the code for your button in PayPal) that has a URL you can put into a link in a Constant Contact email. Since 2 out of 4 of my PayPal buttons have a dropdown or a textfield, this doesn't cut it. I had to create a free website with classic Google Sites (not new Google Sites which also has a gutted editor) to use my PayPal buttons and put the link to that website in my CC email.

Hello @MelissaG179,

Thank you for reaching out to us. I apologize for any inconvenience that this has caused you. We do very much appreciate the feedback on the steps that you have taken in regards to inserting your PayPal button into the email. At this time, the feature of adding the PayPal button into our new Third-Generation editor is still under review. I'd be more than happy to submit your feedback to the correct department. In the meantime, please let us know if there is anything else we can assist with. Have a great day!

I had a mobile template custom created by you and have been inserting my news stories. Instead of just a "Please donate" button that takes people to our website I want to insert our Paypal button. I have already linked our account to Constant Contact. The campaign I'm working on is called Nurture Email 3 March 2017.

Hello @CamiL2. Thanks for your question. The editor you are using does not have a feature where you can insert a Paypal button. However, you can create an image of your Paypal button and have the image be linkable to your Paypal page. This way, your readers won't have to go to your website first to make a donation. I will track your request and send it over to our Product team.
