Alignment of copy underneath image

Using a three column layout, I am trying to list product specs (center aligned) underneath an image of the product, however the copy appears to be a different 3 column grid then the image.

Hello @ArronM5 ,

I'd advise having your text blocks locked to the images within the same 3-column layout, rather than as a separate 3-column layout for each section. So after inserting a 3-column layout, if you don't already have text, simply drag a regular text block over and insert it so the pink line is aligned with the image above it. Then repeat that process for the other two images you have in that row. Then insert a new 3-column layout for the next series of images, and insert text blocks under each individual one again.

Essentially rather than:

Image 3c layout

Text 3clayout

Image 3c layout

Text 3c layout

Your should instead set it up as:

Image and text 3c layout

Image and text 3c layout

Actually that is how we have it built.

Are your images centered in their columns, or are the ones on the sides left/right aligned?

They are centered

Try left/right-aligning the images with the text centered, as that will create a more cohesive view in the Desktop view (see screencap below). Making the images left or right-aligned shouldn't affect them being centered in mobile view, however it's always good to do a Preview / Test Send to make sure. This will also let you text and see what the image sizing will be in mobile (since image displays in mobile apps are affected by their metadata size).

Since left/right aligning images always provides a default minimum padding, it will usually play along with the text blocks' auto-padding better even when the text is centered and the images are not. Center-aligned images won't have any padding, thus causing them to slightly shift one direction of the other on their axis in the columns.

Otherwise, the current setup you have, where the side text is left / right-aligned looks cohesive and works well visually (in my opinion).

Apologies, I should have mentioned that this is an issue on desktop communications which makes up almost 90% of our open rates.
