Automatic Welcome Emails for New Contacts

I would like to send out a custom welcome email when a new contact is created. How do I do that?

Welcome emails are one of the available automation types, however they only apply to contacts that sign up through a list, rather than be added to one via file upload, contact move, integration sync, etc. For welcome emails that trigger off of manual list additions, or to have multiple active at once, we'd suggest using single-step automation series for those.
