I've enabled the Confirmed Opt-In feature and imported one contact via API. Contact status is "Awaiting confirmation" but confirming email was never received. Spam folder (it's a gmail) is empty, email address is valid.
Do I need to perform any additional actions to send the confirmation email?
Welcome back to the Community! Thank you for reaching out. If the confirmation email wasn't received, then I would recommend you side email them a link to your sign up form and once they have entered their email again it should trigger the email to send again. To do this, you would need to first go to 'Sign-up Forms', then click on 'Landing Pages and More', and lastly there will be a button called 'Actions' across from the blue sign up form button. Within the 'Actions' button there will be a 'Form URL' to click on and then you can copy the URL and send to the contact.

If your API is scripted to send the contact information as COI (customer opt-in) then the confirmed opt-in email will be sent. For more advanced troubleshooting and API specific assistance I strongly advise sending an email to webservices(at)constantcontact(dot)com.
