Hi all,
We are trying to find a way to connect Constant Contact with Salesforce, specifically having metrics pushed back into SF from Constant Contact. We would like to be able to open a contact record in Salesforce and view emails sent, open rates, etc. Is anyone doing this? If so, how? I was told today by Constant Contact support that the Integration available in the Integration menu in Constant Contact is currently not working, but I couldn't find documentation that this app would actually do what we are hoping to do anyway. We would, ideally, not like to have to pay a 3rd party connector. Is anyone doing this in any other way - or even connecting the Constant Contact through SQL?
Thank you!
Hi @jessie-singh ,
Currently, the Salesforce/Constant Contact integration is a one-way sync from Salesforce to Constant Contact, so none of the information from Constant Contact (including reporting) would feed back into Salesforce at this time.
We do currently have a feature request open to our engineering team for the option for a two-way sync, so I will certainly go ahead and track that on your account and have them reach back out to you if this functionality is available in the future!
Thanks Amanda, do you know if there is any way to export data from Constant Contact via ftp exports or a direct SQL Server connection so we can get some of the the reporting metrics into our SF instance?
Thank you!
The only contact exports out of our system besides the automated syncs would just be standard XLS and CSV files of contact fields. If you're needing reporting data from segments, emails, etc. you'd need to manually export those as well from our side, as nothing in the direct SF integration is going to be able to pull that automatically.
Thanks William, but that doesn't exactly answer my question. If I need to export data from Constant Contact, how do I go about doing that. Can exports be scheduled? Do you have to use your interface to export data or can it be queried through a direct SQL Server connection?
If we need to manually come in and create exports, how do we do that exactly. I didn't see a way to pull the contact along with the open rates, etc. per email sent.
Thank you!
Exports are done right away manually, there isn't a scheduling functionality for manual file exports of reporting data.
Most campaign types will have export options available from their individual reporting pages. The overall reporting tab also has an export function, depending on the parameters set for export.

To my knowledge there isn't anything that can be queried through an STL setup. That said, you may wish to reach out to our Web Services / Developer support, to see if they'd have any insight on setting up an API connection with us for such a task.
Years ago we used to have a free Salesforce app that auto-imported Constant Contact reporting into Salesforce so that on the contact level we could see what Constant Contact emails were sent, opened, clicked, etc. - this was stopped being supported several years ago.
I saw an inquiry by someone else from May 2022 asking about similar functionality and they were told:
"Currently, the Salesforce/Constant Contact integration is a one-way sync from Salesforce to Constant Contact, so none of the information from Constant Contact (including reporting) would feed back into Salesforce at this time. We do currently have a feature request open to our engineering team for the option for a two-way sync, so I will certainly go ahead and track that on your account and have them reach back out to you if this functionality is available in the future!"
Any progress being made on this front, or do you know of any apps that support this kind of integration?
