Constant Contact's email permission policy and Uploading new contacts



How do we stop the system from changing existing contacts permission status from "expressed" to "implied" when uploading new contacts. Some may have subscribed themselves through our website without my knowledge and need to remain "expressed" even if they are part of an "implied" upload.  Just as any "unsubscribed" contacts status cannot be changed why is an "expressed" contact able to easily change to "implied"?  Once they have provided "expressed" consent it should remain that way until they "unsubscribe".    This is causing a great deal of work and inaccurate contact info for us.

Thanks for reaching out to the Community! You can set the permission to either Express or Implied when uploading new contacts, but the permissions should not change during import for existing contacts. If you have noticed this happening in your account we will need to investigate to find out why. Please send an email to social_support(at)constantcontact(dot)com with a couple of examples of contacts that were Express, but changed to Implied during import.
