Date field

I've only found very old posts on this topic, so I apologize if it's been answered.

 

Is there anyway to have the current date pulled into an email (through the advanced editor).  I'm setting up emails that go out daily and I need them to say "Your tip for TODAY'S DATE"

I can understand the want to have an option for the current date to be pulled into an email, unfortunately this is not a feature we currently provide. However I would be more than happy to pass along your feedback for this feature. We're always collecting feedback to improve your experience using our system.

I've noticed this is the answer people have been getting since 2013...is this something actually on your enhancement roadmap at this time?

Hi @imru. Being able to insert that type of information into the subject line is still something we are collecting feedback on at this time. For now, the subject line would have to be manually updated to insert the date. We have submitted your feedback over to the appropriate department.

Thanks Caitlin, while I don't think this will change your answer, I'm actually looking to insert the date into the body of the email and not the subject.

Hi @imru. I just checked with our upper level of support and at this time, it is not possible to automatically have a date be entered into the email and the date would have to manually updated when the email was created or copied. This type of function you are looking for requires Javascript which our email product does not support. Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Just tacking on a comment to an old thread.
Would it not be possible to pull the date while composing the email in the Constant Contact servers?

Thank you for your suggestion! As you can probably tell, this particular feature is still being considered but has not been implemented yet. I can't speak to how the infrastructure is set up in a way to make this easier or harder to implement, but I will send your suggestion to our developers!

Having a Date Field in the body of the email would be a great feature to have. 

 

When you have to send the same email out each day, it would be nice to just have it go and automatically, change the date without having to create a new email and edit it every day.

Hey, bumping this, as it seems this isn't something that hasn't been done in a few years of requests. Would it be hard to implement? Our current mailing service enables this readily and we'd be inclined to switch if we could get these auto-generating fields set.

I agree with Richard - every day on multiple campaigns we update the date and time.  Having the ability to insert a time zone specific date and time would sure help us not "forget' to do that update!  A little embarrassing to forget to update the date 😉 

 

I'm unsure why this is so hard - every other platform and IT tool seems to have the ability to do a date function.  Why can't CC?  What if we are using the new templates?  I'm struggling with understanding why this is so hard and has been a requested item for many, many years.

We use Constant Contact as a way to ask Donor's to support our Friends of the Library Not for Profit.  As donations are received we send out a thank you letter with our tax ID for their Income Tax purposes.  It is important to have the current date on these.  Is this field available to pull into a campaign yet?  Very Important and it looks like this has been discussed since 2013.  What is up?  Thank You
