Hello,
First time in the forum! Question for the community. I run a business and share this account with at least one other user. Lately, I've noticed that one of my people is getting a very different editing/toolbar experience than what the rest of us are used to. Aside from the cosmetic differences, we've also noticed that the "bad" toolbar/
editor performs notably worse than the one that we've always used.
So what I'd like to know is A.) Why/how did they get a totally differently behaving editor? OS? Using a tablet vs. a laptop/desktop? B.) How can we change the settings so that our account is ONLY able to use the "good" editing layout for our email campaigns?
I've attached photos of what the different toolbars look like. Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated!

Hello @JonF1 ,
The second bar is for the Cross Platform Editor that eventually all templates will be migrating to over time. The top one is for the 3rd Generation Editor that is still associated with some template types. Depending on the template you've chosen to build with, the editor may be one of the other.
So we can collect feedback for improvement, can you please elaborate on how the CPE formatting pop-up menu "performs worse?"
Hey William,
Thank you for elaborating. The Cross Platform Editor has presented issues that I would describe as general bugginess. Regularly it might not save something after I've pressed save, chug along with a task like uploading photos or moving a text/widget block. Recently, I had an issue where it created two copies of an email campaign from the one I was working on (not from "making a copy". just an organic duplicate.)
It's not merely a toolbar issue. That was just the easiest way for me to distinguish between the editor we like and the one that has given us headaches.
For the time being, can you advise on what templates are still using 3rd Gen Editor? Thanks!
Thank you very much for the information! I've submitted the case to our engineers for further review. If and when they have an update on any of these feature requests and serviceable issues, they'll make sure to notify you directly.
When you initially go to the template selection screen, most of the ones you see right away at the top should be in the standard 3ge. I know most if not all of the "Basic" collection of templates (basic note, basic newsletter, basic letter, basic template, etc.) are still on 3ge, if you need to start an email from scratch. If you're copying templates you previously had built, then it might indicate one of your email templates having originally been a pre-built template that got converted. In the same vein, CPE templates in the template selector can be searched using the terms "cross" or "cross-device."
Another thing to keep in mind is that if your other team members are building emails through the mobile app, then the only editor available is the CPE since that's coded for phone & tablet editing as well as desktop editing. If everyone only uses desktop devices for building their emails, and you only ever copy previously-used templates, then it may be worth calling our general support line to see if they can quickly rebuild the CPE templates in a 3GE setup (not including any blocks only available in CPE).
If you end up exploring CPE any further and have additional issues or feature requests to report, feel free to post them in this thread.
