Emails delivered to Yahoo account display as Suspended but account is active ?

I am the administrator of a Constant Contact account and have noticed that emails sent to my Yahoo email account in the past two weeks have bounced as Suspended. However, my Yahoo email account is active. What is going on with Constant Contact? How can I get back to receiving emails in my Yahoo account?

Thank you for reaching out about your bounces from Yahoo. They were experiencing some server issues earlier in the month that caused their addresses to bounce. I'm sorry this affected you but I have unsuspended your Yahoo contacts so you can send to them normally again.

Hi -- I'm having the same issue! I need to send out our newsletter tomorrow (4/5) and am concerned about so many Yahoo account suspensions from our last mailing, which was on 3/21. Our normal bounce rate is <1%, very low, but our last email had a 2% bounce rate!

I'm sorry that the issues with Yahoo's servers doubled your bounce rate, though congratulations on keeping it so low!  The issues with their servers were resolved earlier, and all of the good addresses should have come off of the suspended list by now.  This means that your email today shouldn't have had that same higher bounce rate.  If you're still seeing more bounces than expected, definitely feel free to contact us again and we'll be happy to look into it further.

I am experiencing the exact same issue. Can you unsuspend the Yahoo email addresses in my account as well please. This issue just began recently by the way. Thank you.

Hello... we have been having problems with yahoo emails for about a year.  I saw that some of those problems have been resolved, but I still get a LOT of yahoo bounces.  They come up as suspended or non-existent.  :frown: 

 

We also get a lot of bounces for @interact.ccsd.net  Someone tried to help us with that one a couple of months ago, but they keep bouncing too.

Suspended addresses are slightly different than non-existent or undeliverable.  If something bounces as non-existent, that means that most likely there is a typo in it, somewhere before the @ sign.  This happens quite frequently honestly, even when filling out a sign-up form, typos just happen.

 

If you're getting bounces as 'undeliverable' to a yahoo address, that's a bit more uncommon.  Undeliverable means that the server didn't respond, or doesn't exist.  So that usually means that there's a typo in that domain name, or their servers were down.  @yaho.con  would be an example of some of the things that might cause that.  At first glance, it might seem right, but a missing letter, or an n instead of an m can certainly break the email address.

Here's the thing, in my case they never used to bounce or get labelled as suspended and then all the sudden a bunch of them wind up that way. That's a little too coincidental for me.

If they're now suddenly bouncing as non-existent, then it's possible that their old accounts simply were removed, or shut-down.  Suspended addresses though are generally best handled by contacting our deliverability team directly.  They'll be able to help you figure out what's wrong, and get those addresses unsuspended if necessary.

We had a whole bunch of Yahoo email addresses bounce today - marked as Non-existent - although they accounts are active. Is there currently an issue with sending to Yahoo?

I am having the same issues with my account.  I thought that the problem would fix itself after the server issue was corrected and the suspensions timed out but that is not the case.  There are more this week than previously.

I apologize for any confusion there may have been with these contacts! As previously mentioned in this thread, Yahoo has previously closed down a large number of inactive contacts. Closing down these contacts has caused them to bounce as non-existent. Because these contacts will continue to bounce, we suggest removing them from your account.

I am noticing the same thing. I have quite a few contacts that are recommended for removal and most of them are Yahoo email addresses. What can be done about that? Can you reinstate the email addresses?

Thank you for reaching out about these contacts! I apologize for any confusion there may be with these suspended addresses. Email addresses get marked as Suspended after bouncing repeatedly as Non-existent. With that said, it is your decision on what you would like to do with them going forward. We have reviewed some of the addresses that bounced in your most recent campaign, and can see they've been bouncing for a while. If you believe they're good addresses, our Deliverability Support is available by phone and can look into them further. You also have the option to delete them under the Reporting Tab of your account if they're no longer good contacts to keep.

There are a lot of suspended Yahoo emails in our account. I have not cleaned up the bounced emails in quite a while, so this could be from when Yahoo had an issue almost two years ago. Can you unsuspend the Yahoo email addresses in our Constant Contact account, so we can see if the emails will go through okay now? There are just SO many Yahoo email addresses. There was definitely something going on at some point. I would really appreciate your help with this. Thanks.

I apologize you're seeing these contacts bounce as suspended in your account! Members of support like myself can only assist with up to 7 addresses. The good news is you can now unsuspend an email address directly from the reporting section of your account. Here is an article from our Help Center that goes over how to unsuspend a suspended email address. If you are working with a large list of suspended contacts I would suggest contacting our Deliverability Specialists. These support agents can help look further into these contacts or any other contacts that may bounce in your account.

Thank you for reaching out to us about your Yahoo addresses bouncing. Last week Yahoo closed down a large number of inactive contacts, which is why you may be seeing an increase in that number now. However, if you know that any of the email addresses bouncing are valid, please send us an email at social_support(at)constantcontact(dot)com with those email addresses and reference this thread!

I also would like to point out the thumbs up button is not quite exactly the same as the accepted solution button. Hi! I am having the same issue with all of my yahoo contacts are listed as suspended. I emailed Support a few months ago and never received a response. I also called the 866-433-8499 number and was connected to billing who tried to redirect me to an account review and deliverability specialist and was then disconnected. 

 

Is there any way to receive help on this?
