Hello- i'm trying to charge a group rate for an event AND collect the names and emails of all the members of the group without charging the additional members. Any help would be appreciated.

Hello @ADVIS ,

If you set your event's fee via the event's settings to only apply to registrants, this will effectively make it a "group charge." That way registrants, whether they're bringing 0 or 10 guests, will only pay the single flat fee. Otherwise, the other option would be to have a separate "group package," that's slightly more expensive than the single registrant option, if you do still want to charge something for the extra attendees.

An example of what I'm describing:

If you also are expecting to collect guests' email addresses, then you'd need to add that under the Guest section of your event's registration form settings.

Hello William,

I will need two fee types, a Member rate and a non-member rate, AND I want each to be able to bring multiple guests (and not be charge for each guest)  only be charged the flat rates- member or non-member. It appears I can only do one or the other. If I choose flat rate, I can only have one rate (not a member rate and a non-member rate). I don't see an selection for " only apply to registrants" bc the guests they add are considered registrants. Can you explain where to find this selection?

  1. Set up your event to Allow guests. Guests are not considered "registrants" for the purposes of the registration form and billing.
  2. Then go to the step for fees and set it to multiple. Label the fees for Member and Non-Member.
  3. Set those fees to apply to Registrants.

If the system won't allow you to set every fee to Registrant only, you can create a fake / dud one, call it something like PLACEHOLDER, set it to hidden, leave it as applying to Everyone, and set it to $0.

William,

THank you for being so helpful. One last question...is there a way to make a discount code apply to only additional guests/registrants? If we want to give a $75 discount for additional registrants from the same school and they register as a group, I want to take $75 off for each additional guest. I can only see under applies to " entire order". Any way to change that? Thanks again.

Not really, discount codes are either going to be a flat amount or a rate that applies to the entire order at this time.
