If the file you're trying to download is an image file, you can click on it, then right-click its pop-up window to download the image (Save As function in the right-click / ctrl-click). For documents you can access their links and download from that page.
This method only downloads the thumbnail. How do you download the original?
You have to click the image in your library first to bring up the little pop-up window with its alt description, name, dimensions, etc. Then right-click the image in that pop-up window. The other method would be to right-click the image in that pop-up window and open it in a new tab, then Save As that, but it'd be the same dimensions.
Also bear in mind that if your original image was larger than 1800x1800, then the version in your account's library will have been compressed, so it wouldn't be the same as the original. For more info, please see this article.
