Re: I've uploaded a PDF file How do i insert to email template? as if the 'insert' button doesn't

I am also having a problem with this. I save my document as a PDF and follow the steps that you have outlined. However, after it's been inserted to my email and I try to test it, the document will not open; all I get is a grey screen as if there is nothing there. I go back to the original PDF, saved on my computer, and it's there and looks just fine. I am sure that there must be something that I am doing wrong or missing, but can't figure out what.

Re: I've uploaded a PDF file How do i insert to email template? as if the 'insert' button doesn't

Hi,

Thanks for getting back to us. I went in your account and created a copy of the last email. It's called "Constant Contact PDF link". In this email I included a PDF link for myself to test out. I was able to open the file without seeing a grey screen. Does this happen when you click the link from the Constant Contact screen as well as when you send a version of the email to yourself? Is it possible to send the email to someone else to test out?

If others are able to open the file, it could be indicating that you need to update Adobe or the program you open PDF files in.

Please let me know if you are still having trouble!

Re: Inserting PDF's

Hello Jacques,

I would be happy to assist you in inserting a PDF into your email.  There are two ways to accomplish this, first you can link to a PDF within the email. Linking to a PDF is the best option this gives your users the ability to download and save the file.

Here is a link to inserting a link to a PDF

The second option is to take a screenshot of the PDF file and insert it directly into the body of the email as an image. Making your PDF files into an image has downsides, usually, this creates an email that is very HTML heavy and can affect deliverability.

Here are the steps to convert a PDF file into a image.

PDF Links in Welcome Email

I uploaded a PDF to my library and want to link it to my Welcome email.

In the past I was able to obtain a Constant Contact PDF link to insert in the email. I can't seem to do this now. Instead, I linked to the URL for my PDF. The problem is that the Constant Contact PDF link would open the PDF when clicked. My own URL downloads the file and the client has to go into their files to open it up.

Where do I find the Constant Contact PDF link?

Re: PDF Links in Welcome Email

Hi Gloya!

Here is a video that I created with instructions on how to find the URL for your PDF that you can insert into your Welcome Email:

Excuse the fact that it's my Wedding Thank You Card! :) It's all I really had as a PDF.

Any questions, let me know!
