How do I delete a contact list name (group) without deleting the names in that group?

I have several contact lists that are no longer needed but don't want to delete the names therein. How can I just delete the name of the list and not the names in that list?

If you're needing assistance clearing out some old lists, without deleting the contacts within, you can follow this article to get rid of just the needed lists without affecting your contacts or the other lists.
