The "export contacts" button is not clickable. I cannot export my contacts to excel. It worked just a few days ago.

Hi @J.R.L4
I'm happy to show you how you can export your contacts! Follow these steps below!
Hope that helps! Let us know if you have any questions!
Hi Melinda,
I'm sorry to hear this is giving you trouble. Are you selecting all or just some of your contacts before clicking export? You will need to have at least one contact checked off before the export button becomes active.
If you are already doing this, please let me know the browser you are working in and if the export button looks active or not.
Thanks for your help,
Hello, it is not very clear where and how to export a contact list.
Hi Susan,
Thank you for posting. I'm sorry for the confusion here. To export a contact list, you want to make sure to click on the list first to show the contacts within this list. Then you want to select all contacts within the list by choosing the box at the very top of the list. Then you will see an option to Export.
Once you click to Export, you can then find the link to download the file within the Activity link.
I hope this helps!
what happens if you have a lot of unsubscribed emails in each list? it seems like I get all active and inactive emails from each list to export.
Hello @KimberlyS457 ,
When a contact unsubscribes they are fully removed from all active contact lists, which means they shouldn't be in your lists regardless of whether they had previous membership or not.
If you don't believe this is the case, and that contacts who've definitely unsubscribed are still in your lists, could you please reply to the automated @ mention email with your username, as well as some examples of affected lists and unsubscribed contacts showing as part of those lists?
Hi Kathy,
At this time the easiest way to print your contact list is to export it to excel first. You can export individual contacts by selecting some of the contacts in a list or you can select all and export.
Once exported, save the file on your computer and then print it from within the excel screens.
Thanks,
Thanks your information was very helpful
Can someone tell me how I am suppose to print a Email list, that would be great thanks
Hello Kathleen,
Please see the above post from Hannah_M. The best way to print your list is to export it first and then print that.
Thanks!
Thanks so much
You're welcome. We have a Feedback board for our Contacts product where you can vote on ideas for more features and even submit your own. You can pass the feature along for printing a list right here!
Constant Contact is misleading everyone.
While you can download a list to an Excel format, the data fields are corrupted. The data does not appear in the correct columns so the spreadsheet is useless.
Worse yet, the lists all appear in the same Excel data field so it is impossible to sort by list.
Constant Contact has been aware this problem for months. Notice that their replies simply fail to mention this major glitch. They apparently don't give a rat's butt.
Suggest that all customers start listing Constant Contacts failures to provide proper service as part of their email distributions. At least potential new customers won't be surprised as we were some months ago.
Hi Armondo,
Thanks for posting. Currently the only way to export a list of contacts is to a CSV file but you can open this file on your computer and re-save it as a CSV in just a couple of steps.
First export the list and use the download link to open the file. Depending on your computer & browser type you will have the option to open or save the file. Once opened you can go to File >Save As and choose the file type you would like.
Hope this helps
Hi Dennis. I'm sorry you're finding the new contacts harder than the old system. To your specific point about exporting your contacts, it's actually fairly simple to do in the new interface.
If you have any questions about this process, please let us know.
IMHO, the reason they have made things so hard is that deep down inside they hate us. Or maybe their developers are just clueless.
Hi Lisa,
You can still export your contacts. The process is a little different with the new contacts interface though. You'll see an option to export when you have selected the contacts that need to be exported. For more detailed instructions click here.
Hope that helps you!
Thanks,
