I want to segment my 15,000 contacts by by their zip/postal codes. I would also like people to be automatically added to the correct area segment when they get added (thus why I am using segments vs lists). What is the best way to create a segment when I have 10+ postal codes (the segment page doesn't allow for more than 10 criteria).
Hey there @RichS470 ,
While segments don't automatically update with changes to your overall contacts, they can be manually refreshed without changing criteria.
Additionally, could you elaborate a bit on what other criteria you're including in these segments, besides the zip codes?
I can get your requests passed on to our engineers, and any further elaborations and suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your quick response! I talked with a Support Rep at Constant Contact and he has setup a meeting with a specialist for Monday.
Basically, I am covering the state of North Carolina. With our previous provider, we segmented our contacts into one of 11 communities based on their zip code. If I were to focus on one community there are 42 unique zip codes and 33 unique cities. It was suggested a make a list for each zip code, buy my entire list of contacts that is close to 600 unique zip codes.
On a monthly basis, we receive a database update from our parent org and I was hoping to find a solution where members would automatically be aligned to the correct segment when they are imported into Constant Contact.
Curious how resolution went as I have essentially the same use case: need to create "in-region" and "out-of-region" segments for targeted messaging based on more than 10 zip codes.
