If you need to add tags to contacts, you can do so during import, as well as through the contact dashboard. You can also use tools like segmentation or simply searching through your contacts to narrow them down for specialty tags.

Once you have tags active in your account, they can be used as segmentation criteria, search criteria, or as a way to send emails to just contacts specifically tagged (or not tagged) as such in your selected lists.
