Individual Survey Responses Suddenly Became Anonymous

Our first survey was working great.  We had 47 responses, and I could get complete individual data on each one of them.  All of a sudden though, all of the responses became listed as anonymous, and I can no linger get individual results.  I think this happened after I clicked on "save respondents to a list" in the INDIVIDUAL RESULTS page of the survey campaign.  Is there any way I can get the status changed back from anonymous and be able to view individual results again

Hello @CindyL631,

Thank you for reaching out to the Community! I apologize that your survey results are shown as anonymous. If you sent the survey link through an email campaign instead of using the survey invitation, then all of your results will appear as anonymous. I do apologize for any inconvenience this may cause but we are unable to change that status. The link is used for customers who prefer the survey to be anonymous. If this is not the case, and you did send your survey through the invitation feature please let us know!

Ok, so as long as I embed the survey link in my newsletter campaign, then the responses will show up with respondent emails? The replies are anonymous when you send the survey directly as it's own 'campaign', is that correct?

Hello @KarenCCV ,

The opposite. If you build an email from within the Survey tool (after activating the survey there'll be a section to create a survey invitation), then the responses should come back with who is actually responding, since we'll be able to capture the email address via click tracking.

Using the share link, and putting that into a separate newsletter campaign will cause all responses to be anonymous, since that link cannot be tracked in the same way (no coding and can be shared via social media and elsewhere).

Another way to capture who is responding and how, is to simply ask the contacts to provide some degree of contact info. This will make it do even the "anonymous" share link is able to capture that information. Of course, if you want your contacts to believe it's 100% anonymous, then you'll need to use the method mentioned in the first paragraph.
