I currently have an overall unsubscribe rate of 1% (from 6 campaigns) and 2.3% from my last email blast.
What is the standard average and what does CC do when it reaches a certain %... do they flag you and?
Hi all. We are updating this post to reflect that after updates to our reporting page since the original post, the unsubscribe rate for your industry will no longer display in your unsubscribe reporting shown for an individual campaign. The average unsubscribe rate shown is based off of your last ten campaigns.
Although average industry rates are useful for comparisons with open and click rates, we encourage you to review your own reporting in order to understand what is most important to your contacts and your business. Keep in mind that while two accounts may share an industry, they can serve different populations and provide different content so these industry rates are not "one size fits all".
Hi @Betho10 these are great questions! While there is not a specific unsubscribe rate for all industries, if you fill out the Business Profile in your account, you'll see the average for your specific industry. While on the other hand, I apologize there is not certain percentage we can share that can cause an account to be flagged. Instead this can depend on other reporting factors too at the time. If you have any further questions on this our Account Review Department is available by phone and can help find the answers you may need.
I would be interested in this, too. We have filled out the Business Profile, but your monthly published averages by industry do not include unsubscribe rates. Only Open, Click-Thru, and Bounces.
Hello @DanD7938,
Please take a look at my screenshot below so you can see where to compare selected email newsletters and see your unsubscribed rate compared as well.
How do I get to that screen? I cannot find it anywhere
Hello @DanD7938,
This screen will be located under your reporting tab. Take a look at this helpful article for some direction. Thanks!
OK I found the screen, but it only shows MY unsubscribe rate - not an industry average. Frankie P's response clearly states, "you'll see the average for your specific industry."
Hi @DanD7938 ,
To see the average unsubscribe rate, you'd need to click on the number of unsubscribes for that specific campaign to get into the drilldown report of the email addresses of the people who have unsubscribed. Once you are at that report, the average unsubscribe rate will be at the top right.
If you do not have any unsubscribes for that campaign, you would not be able to enter the drilldown report, because there are no email addresses to show. You'd need to find a campaign where there was at least one unsubscriber. Hope that helps!
