I want to copy an email, as I have always done, but there is no longer an option to do this. I have also tried to contact Constant Contact but the chat never opens and the phone calls doesn't get answered. I have been trying for several days.
Thanks, Jo

Hello everyone!
We apologize for any inconvenience caused from this Copy feature not being available on your legacy campaign. The ability to copy Legacy Newsletter templates has been disabled since we are moving forward with our updated editor and are dedicating resources to making this editor the best it can be. Because of this we would recommend recreating your template in our updated editor. This up-to-date editor does have the ability to be copied.
Additionally, we have an article that specifically goes over some of the differences and similarities between the legacy editor and our current one. Feel free to peruse our Knowledge Base for other helpful guides, tutorial videos, tips, and basic troubleshooting assistance regarding the editor.
If you'd like some live, one-on-one guidance and screensharing, our friendly phone support staff would be happy to assist you while you make the transition. They can also collect info on what template(s) you'd like to have transposed into the current editor, or get an order written up if you'd like a wholly different, branded template created.
We welcome any feedback about this editor. If you would like to see a feature included, please leave your feedback here. This directly posts to our Get Feedback area where posts are read by the Product team. They use the feedback left by customers to make decisions on future feature updates based on what is getting the most volume. While we welcome your thoughts and comments here, it is best to post on that board so your feedback can be tracked easier.
Copy option from past emails has disappeared. All other options but no copy. Need to send out information NOW.
Hi @MicheleJ6 and @OfficeM576
Thank you both for reaching out to the Community about your email. I can definitely understand how important it is to easily work in your account. I apologize for any inconvenience caused from this Copy feature not being available on your campaign. This feature has been removed from our older and outdated Legacy Newsletter Templates as we move away from these templates to our updated Email Newsletters instead. Are there any features in particular that are causing you to continue copying these Legacy Newsletter Templates? Having any feedback on this is important to have as we are always open to ways we can better our user's experience. In the meantime, we would recommend recreating your template in our updated editor.
The Copy choice has disappeared from the dropdown menu. No way to copy my email for next issue, major problem. I reported this via your chat and the automated answer was to try a different browser. I use Google Chrome and occasionally Firefox, but that didn't work. I even tried Microsoft Edge, which told me right at the beginning that it wasn't supported and that I should use Chrome or Firefox. I use Chrome, switched to Firefox, still didn't copy. Help!
Hi @JimB829
Thank you for reaching out to the Community! This Copy feature on your Legacy Newsletter Templates is not browser related. I apologize for any confusion this may have caused. We are currently in the process of moving away from these templates to our updated Email Newsletters instead. Because of this the Copy feature on our older and outdated Legacy Newsletter Templates has been removed. I would recommend recreating your template in our updated editor as these campaigns still have the option of being copied. In the meantime, are there any features in particular that are causing you to continue copying these Legacy Newsletter Templates? This is helpful information for us to track and submit to our Product team.
I am not happy that you are removing the legacy template, as it is the most user friendly and easiest for those of us who are not extremely tech savvy. I have tried the new templates and do not like them, for many reasons.
However I really like the legacy template I have been using and if at all possible would like for you to allow us to continue copying and using it. By feedback, I see others agree.
The time I spend starting completely from scratch each time and trying to navigate the new templates, is making a newsletter I normally enjoy putting together, frustrating. And at this time during the crisis, we are trying to keep up with and inform our membership more frequently, but this adds to the frustration.
Thank you.
Hi @OfficeM576,
I do appreciate your perspective and the concerns you've raised and I will get them to the right people.
Constant Contact is dedicated to the Third Generation editor and bolstering its capabilities and we're adding features and making improvements all the time. Our Knowledge Base has many articles that walk users through how to utilize the newer editor.
If you could elaborate on what it is you do not like about the Third Generation Editor, I might be able to address them and find a solution, or at least get your feedback in front of our developers. Thank you.
this is just completely unacceptable. for something I'm use to spending a couple minutes to put out a new communication, now I have to LEARN A COMPLETELY NEW PLATFORM! If I have to go thru all that trouble, I might as well look at other product platforms and subscribe to one of those instead.
I’m definitely looking at alternate platforms. Nearly all of my campaigns are just modifications of previous emails. Recreating all of them now is completely unacceptable somI might as well do it on or one of those others. I understand CC moving to a more current editor, but they should have worked out a way to migrate at least the bulk of the prior content.
I agree with OfficeM576. The old system worked well, and the message from you folks telling me the system no longer works the same says it is happening in 2021. When I follow the directions, it takes me nowhere. This is not good. And I just paid a renewal? How might I go about getting that refunded? And how do I go about doing my this month's newsletter THIS week?
Hello @CFJC ,
Can you elaborate on what directions you're having trouble with? Are you having issues making an email in the current editor? Or are you having issues contacting Support to request a recreation?
I'd recommend taking a look at our Knowledge Base for its plethora of helpful articles to ease the transition to our current, mobile-friendly email builder. For starters, you may be interested in this article on transitioning between the two builders. The current builder’s emails can be copied.
If you'd like one-on-one guidance, our general support agents can work with you live on the phone to get started as well. You can also request to have your legacy template remade in the new editor by one of the professional designers, or to have an entirely new one created for a price.
Regarding refund requests, you can reach out to Billing directly to see what options are available to you and to cancel.
This is SO LAME!!!!!! To make long-term customers re-create campaigns each time is time consuming and irresponsible. You have lost me as a 10+ year customer.
I 100% agree. Terrible service and I am FURIOUS that I have to spend my precious weekend recreating all my much-used campaigns.
Hello @TaoHouse and @MelissaW50,
We do appreciate your feedback very much and are submitting it over to our engineers. We want you to have the best product when sending through Constant Contact so we needed to create this mobile responsive and user friendly update. Please reach back out to us if you need some assistance with getting started creating a new email campaign. Thanks!
Appreciate our feedback!
You are messing with our businesses.
We have more to do that stare at yet another screen for an afternoon.

I think that is a terrible decision on Constant Contact's part. If you don't want to support older campaigns, then PLEASE offer to recreate a template for us, based on our previous much-used template!! Some of us rely on the speed and ease of creating on-the-go campaigns, and you are now forcing us to laboriously REDO what we have created over the years. You should at least offer to copy the campaigns from the second generation, long-term customers into your new platform. You offer excellent customer service, yet you just screwed your longest-running, loyal customers! I am more than disappointed. Shame on you!!

The new editor is truly a bad "upgrade" as it now changes the format of good/not-a-problem HTML templates -- I guess when CC made the "new custom code editor", they did so without caring about how their editor would change how their customers' emails/communications would look, and that's a bunch of crap. Horrible job, CC.
I received the email today stating that CC would no longer allow copying from legacy emails and I want to say that this is a TERRIBLE IDEA!!!
There are some things that I just CANNOT re-create, such as our Calendar email that we send out monthly. There is absolutely NO WAY to set up a calendar format email in the 3rd gen. editor! I have tried inserting rows of 5 text blocks and when I send it to myself it comes out all mixed up and you cant see anything that resembles a calendar in mobile view, so I'm not sure why this is being touted as so great. Sometimes you just cannot make a mobile-format email work - such as in this case when a table is needed.
PLEASE DO NOT disable the legacy emails until you can give us a way to create tables in the new editor!!
I really wish we would have had some kind of warning about this. Now, I have to set up my newsletter in an entirely different template. Honestly, what a pain.
I have lost the ability to copy a campaign to build a new one. I have done this for years and this week it is gone. HELP!!!
